Fully Automated Flagging in the Faroe Islands

Vága Municipality in the Faroe Islands has chosen three fully automatic Uptimast® flagpoles to help manage flagging across the municipality.

The flags are raised and lowered automatically according to scheduled flagging calendars, ensuring consistent and reliable operation throughout the year. For special occasions, such as memorial services or funerals, authorised users can quickly switch the flag to half-mast using a mobile device. Once the occasion has concluded, the flag can be returned to full mast with a simple command.

One Uptimast® installation is located in Miðvágur, another in Sandavágur, and a third in Vatnsoyrar.
